During CCAT’s webinar last week Colin Cooper, the states Chief Executive Manufacturing Officer discussed several items of interest including:
- Opening Requirement for Businesses
- Additional Funding for Manufacturers
- PPE and Testing Materials
As of May 20th, several businesses were able to open, including outdoor dining and recreation. Those businesses need to perform a self-assessment to demonstrate safe workplace practices and procedures. Since manufacturers have remained open as essential businesses, they are not required to conduct this assessment.
The MVP (Manufacturers Voucher Program) Fund was revived to address the need to help companies re-tool so that they could make PPE. That portion of the program is complete but there’s more funding coming in June. Details will follow.
He also referred to the need for testing supplies as we enter the next phase. For more information go to the May 21st webinar, Using Technology and Effective Communications to Market your Business. His presentation starts at 59 minutes. We also presented a how-to guide on providing consistent communication during the pandemic.
If you produce PPE products or testing materials, please let us know and we’ll add you to our CT Manufacturers Helping Out page.
