Just to set the record straight, CTmrg is not an HR consultant or a Recruitment firm (although we have some great vetted resources that do this). We come in before you’re ready to talk to someone outside the company. We work with the owner to create a clear path for recruitment and retention.
It starts with job descriptions. We have been to many small manufacturers throughout CT who would like to grow their workforce and are counting on the “right people” to come along. In such a process driven industry, it seems odd that so many people leave this to chance. It is important to look at your business to determine existing and future capacity and build a workforce around it.
Networking is also a critical piece. Reaching out to your local technical high school and community college will help you to be on the ground floor for recruitment. It also allows you to have input into their curriculum so that the students graduating have the skill sets needed.
